Heather brings over 25 years’ experience in residential camping and youth development as the Director of American Youth Foundation Camp Merrowvista, in Tuftonboro, New Hampshire. Most recently she served as the Managing Director at City Year New Hampshire, where she oversaw program impact and partnerships with school leadership and local stakeholders. Heather has served on key industry boards including President of NH Camp Directors Association from 2017-2019. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Missouri and master’s in education from Antioch University New England.

Heather, a longtime resident of Carroll Country, views this role with Huckins as a once in a lifetime opportunity to both support youth and families in my local community and develop girls and young women through the distinctive Huckins’ experience. She is excited to get to know the staff, campers, families and Huckins alumni.

Heather, her husband Doug, their two sons, Sam and Spencer, live in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

Lily (maclean) bennani

Advancement Director

A camper and counselor in the 90s, Lily was last on staff as a double-SC in Cabin P in 1998. She is thrilled to join the year-round staff to support Huckins’ Advancement efforts – connecting the ever-expanding Huckins community to opportunities to ensure the magic of Camp continues for many future generations.

Lily brings to Huckins 25+ years of experience in finance, strategy, communications, and design, with a passion for building relationships and community to drive growth. She holds a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. She also is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Chaterholder.

Lily is a proud mother of two sons. When not driving the basketball carpool or cheering from the side of a soccer field, Lily enjoys reading, long walks and talks with friends, puzzling, paddleboarding, and nurturing her family’s ever-expanding vegetable garden with her husband, Chris, at their home in Concord, MA. She could not live without chocolate or ice cream.

Dot coetzee

Database Specialist

Dot joined the Huckins year-round staff in 2022. She helps to keep everything running smoothly, especially from a data perspective — from registrations to donations to annual mailings.

Before joining Huckins, Dot enjoyed a rewarding 30+ year career as an Engineering Manager in process automation. Se holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Rhode Island College and a MS in International Business from Bryant University. She’s grateful to have met diverse and interesting people and lived and worked all over the world, including India for two years and South Africa for fifteen. After retiring with her husband to their long-time summer home in West Ossipee, Dot lasted only two months before seeking an opportunity to get back to work and be part of a team and organization she felt proud of. At Huckins, Dot most enjoys the variety of challenges that cross her desk on a daily basis, and the chance to support Camper families with their requests. Huckins is lucky to have her!

In her free time, Dot enjoys crafting, embroidery, and sewing. She is building the enthusiasm for sewing at Huckins by offering lessons in the Craftshop! Her daughter and four grandchildren live in Rhode Island.

Jeremy Fullerton

Facility Coordinator

Jeremy joined the year round team in 2021 after spending much of his professional life managing a local ski outfitter, while at the same time developing a passion for fixing, building, and renovating everything. Jeremy brings skills in carpentry, landscaping, plumbing, boat maintenance, and operating equipment of all sizes.

Jeremy lives in Madison with his wife, Lauren, and daughters Isla and Scottie. They enjoy adventures outdoors but also cozy nights by the woodstove in their new home (along with their dog, Kenzie and cat, Jerry).

Anderson Griffin

Finance Manager

Anderson joined the full time team in March 2024. With a background in manufacturing, Huckins marks his first experience in the camp world!

Originally hailing from Raymond, NH, Anderson is a proud father to his daughter Megan and Papa to his grandson Flynn. In his free time, Anderson is an artist, focusing on acrylic landscapes, wildlife, and pencil/charcoal sketches. He also enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly at his brother’s camp in Maine where he enjoys boating and fishing over the weekends in the summer.

Angela Lavoie

Registrar

Angela is typically the first voice you hear when you call the office and the first face you see when visiting. She processes all camp enrollments and assists with the entire registration process. She is an expert with our web-based management software and is eager to answer any questions you have.

Angela attended college in Boston. Before joining the Camp Huckins staff in 2001, she worked at a local bank. Angela resides in Tamworth, NH with her husband, and in her free time she enjoys spending time in the woods and maple sugaring.

She also happens to be married to Joel, the Director of Food Services.

Smackie graduated from Maine Maritime Academy in 2003 with a B.S. in International Business and Logistics. She bides her time between summers at camp by substitute teaching, volunteering at the local school, and swimming competitively (but mostly for fun) with Great Bay Masters. She lives in Freedom with Joel and their three children, where they enjoy traveling together, reading by the wood stove, eating good food and game nights!
