Q: How deep is the water?
A: The inside area is very gradual and sandy, so you can pick how deep you want to go. The outside area is deeper.
Q: When we go to the lake what do you do when you don’t pass the swim test?
A: You can swim in the inside area, use the slide, and you can still use the boats at the small crafts beach. (we all wear pfds)
Q: What do you do if you don’t have a buddy at free swim?
A: Your counselors will help you and your cabin mates at the end of rest hour to make a plan, and there are always staff at the waterfront that will be your buddy. The waterfront staff will also help you find a buddy, so head that way if you want to swim!
Q: Can you redo a swim test?
A: You can re-do it once a day starting the day after swim tests!
Q: If you pass your swim test one year, do you have to do it next year?
A: Campers and staff take their outside area test every summer. We all take it each year 🙂
Q: Do you have to take swimming lessons if you pass the outside area test?
A: Yes! Every morning everyone will take swim lessons regardless of passing the test.
Q: Is the diving board in the outside area or the inside area?
A: Outside area!
Q: What types of sea life are in the water?
A: There are some fish in the lake, but they avoid the swim area!
Q: Can you go fishing?
A: Yes
Q: Do we get to have smores?
A: Yes, it’s a special cabin activity.
Q: Can you make post cards in the craft shop?
A: Yes! There are so many supplies and if you tell the craftshop staff at free time you want to make that they will help you get everything you need.
Q: What do you do in the Nature Hut?
A: We have a flower and vegetable garden and a great nature trail. The director will have a lot of fun nature crafts and activities!
Q: Do you have any sport teams?
A: We occasionally have sports teams that compete against other camps.
Q: Is there field hockey, pickle ball?
A: Yes. See our website for a list of activities at camp. During free time you can do activities with anyone. Morning instructionals are with your cabin!
Q: Will we be able to play with the other cabins in the other divisions?
A: Yes! During free time
Q: What types of opportunities are there for theater and drama?
A: Dance and Drama is an instructional, so you’ll do that as a cabin, and there is a camper show or talent show (depending on the session)
Q: Can you/should you bring tap shoes for dancing?
A: You can, if you’d like to use them! Again just remember items can get damaged or lost.
Q: Do you have to do the talent show/Play?
A: No, you sign up if you want to be in the talent show or play.
Q: What grade do you have to finish to horseback ride.
A: 4th grade.
Q: What if you already take horse-back riding lessons? Do you still have to pass fourth Grade?
A: Yes! You must have completed the 4th grade to horseback ride.
Q: What happens if you fall off a horse?
A: Luckily this does not happen often as our horses are awesome and very patient! If it does happen, our horseback riding staff are trained to help you and call the health team if needed!
Q: What are the activities when it rains/thunderstorms?
A: Lots of indoor activities! The sports complex lets us do sporty things indoors and we play games in the lodge and dining hall!
Q: Is there a list of free time activities so we know all of the options?
A: Yes! All the departments are open, and they announce special activities at lunch!
Q: Do siblings get to see each other or can they hang out and do activities together during free time or just get to say a quick hello
A: Yes. They can spend free time doing activities together if they want or just check in and then go with other friends to activities.
